This new DVD features over 3 hours of tightly edited demonstrations of professional lighting and rendering techniques using Maya and Mental Ray. Topics covered include:

Pixar Technical Director Jeremy Birn has lit shots in movies such as Wall-E, Ratatouille, Cars, and The Incredibles. He is the author of the acclaimed book Digital Lighting & Rendering (now in its second edition.) He is also an experienced educator, having taught at the California Institute of the Arts and the Academy of Art University, and has lectured on lighting and rendering in many countries around the world. Jeremy Birn received an MFA from the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, CA.

Maya Versions Follow along using Maya Complete, Unlimited, or PLE. Maya 2008 or 2009 is preferred to make sure you have all the latest features, but each scene file is included in both Maya 2008 and Maya 7 version .ma files, so they are loadable with newer or older copies of Maya.
Skill Level Intermediate. Beginners will want to use the pause button frequently. If you haven't worked with Maya lighting and rendering much before, you'll want to stop and try each step for yourself. Jeremy is an experienced professional, and demonstrates specialized functions in precise technical detail.
