The Guide To Out Of Body Experiences, And Lucid Dreams
This guide, Made entirely by me, should help a lot of people out when trying to get an OOBE (Out Of Body Experience) or a Lucid Dream.

If you have had something like this, and you are scared shitless of it, there is an explaination below:

You are laying in bed, you are tired. It's been a busy day and you just want to sleep. But try as you might the old grey bits wont slow down and you are consumed with the thoughts of the day and perhaps the day to come.
You notice a curious sensation of being unable to move. It has sneaked up on you so stealthily that by the time you were aware of it, it was too late to do anything about it wasn't it? A mild panic sets in? You try to reason your way out of it with a bit of rational thinking but rational thinking has suddenly become very difficult. You really are paralysed and the more you struggle the tighter this invisible grip becomes. Perhaps this strange paralysis is followed by the unsettling sensation of an overbearing weight crushing you or invisible hands clutching and squeezing various parts of your body? Perhaps you perceive whispering in your ear or you feel that someone is in the room watching and waiting close by.
You no longer feel rational and you attempt to shout for help only to find you cannot speak or call out because your jaws have become as immobile as the rest of you. They feel as if they have been glued shut along with your eyelids. Mentally you struggle to shake the horrible feeling of imminent death off you and just when you feel you may lose the fight, the condition passes or perhaps someone close by has realised all is not right and has broken the spell by calling to you or placing a hand on you?

You are not alone.
This is the start/is and OOBE
If this came upon you without you wanting it to happen, eg. knowing nothing at all about this stuff, you are already on the road to easily Dreaming Lucid and having OOBEs.

Lucid Dreams

What are they?
A Lucid Dream is a state in which you are in a dream, preferably at night, and you notice something that isn't right - normally, a function in your brain (I call it the reality gear) is turned off during dreams, meaning, you could see a bunch of over-sized ladybirds flying down a freeway, and you would think nothing of it - but if you manage to get this Reality Gear to stay on in dreams you can notice these things are out of wack, and start controlling your dream.

Here is an example of what would happen if you have been successful in keeping the Reality Gear on:
You step into a car, and go to put the key into the ignition.
But you find that the ignition is not on near the dashboard, so you look around, and find it in the Rearview mirror.

You would suddenly come to realise "What the f****? I've never seen an ignition there before.."

This would be the time when you begin to dream Lucid, if you can realise it's not supposed to be like that, you can realise your surroundings, and everything you drive with. eg. Being aware of your surroundings, and seeing the realistic reactions you would normally find in real life.

Remembering Dreams
One of the most important aspects of a Lucid Dream, is being able to remember what you actually did.. Which is the main reason people do it: pleasure.
Eg. You have a dream in which you are with your girlfriend, you screw her.
Then you don't remember it the next morning.
Oh no.
How much would that suck?
Exactly.
So, what you need to do, is remember every one of your dreams, because, if you are only able to remember 2, your brain won't give a ~Oh Deficate!~ if it remembers the wrong 2.
This is what i did to do this:
Went to sleep as normal,
But i waited for the morning that i remembered one of my dreams.
And i wrote it down.
Next night, i remembered two dreams.
I wrote them down.
I kept doing this until i was pretty certain that every dream i had was remembered.
Now that you have done this, it brings me to the next chapter:

How do people get them?
It sounds easy, but it's not as if you can lay in bed, go to sleep, and have a Lucid Dream when you please, no, it's not that easy.
What i do, is this simple procedure:
Tell yourself every night something along these lines:
"I will not be impressed by any of the junk in my dreams, and will catch them out if something is weird"
Keep doing this until you get what you want.

Getting them on demand
This is quite hard to do, and you won't find many people who can actually do it. I can to some extent, but not to the point where i lay down, tell myself "I wanna dream lucid" and bam, there i go.
That would require at least 30 years of practise, so forget about it.

Troubleshooting
Just post a reply, or email me, or something, and i'll post it here with an answer. :)

Out of Body Experiences

Had this before? You are not alone.

That is one of the most heard of scenarios, but it does not capture the full perspective of what you can do with OOBEs.

What are they?
OOBEs are a state in which your unconscious mind gets out of your head and you are able to see everything through it's view, control it, do everything you could normally do in real life, plus more.

Why people get them.
There are two kinds of people, and i will explain them both:

Most Likely
It will probably shock you, but these people are:
-Stressed out
-Depressed
-Always over-tired
-Usually work night-shifts

Least Likely
These people are:
-Calm
-Happy all the time
-Haven't got a care in the world
-Never tired

Now, to explain why they get them.
The Most Likely people, would go to bed, think about all the crap going on in their life, and would think about all the stuff they wouldn't need if they were happy.

The others would be happy, think about all the good things in life, and fall asleep easily.

I have put need and happy in bold for a reason, explained below:

COMPASS POINTS
This is one of the most important things to have when it comes to OOBEs and how to trigger them. They are seperated into two categories:

EMOTION and NEED

Emotion
Emotions are things that absolutely confuse your conscious mind and make it get tired quicker (i will explain why this is good later on). Here are some examples:

-Wanting to be with a loved one/deceased.
-Sadness
-Depression

Need
This ties in nicely with emotion because, need often leads directly into it.
eg. You want to be with a loved one, so bad that you start to feel depressed.
Some of these are as follows:

-Extreme thirst/hunger
-Be with a loved one
-Need happiness

Your Aura
This is pretty damn important, seeing as if you didn't have it, you wouldn't exist. Not dead, not once living, you would just have ceased to ever be.
Your Aura is yes, visible, but only with special cameras and equipment.
It holds everything you have ever thought of, done, achieved, pretty much everything that has happened to you since you were born.

It also affects what your Astral Body is like.
It determines what it's gonna be like when you have an OOBE.
Eg. If you were incredibly evil, and killed bunnies for no reason, and loved Satan, i would highly advise you do not go anywhere close to having an OOBE.

Your conscious mind
Your conscious mind is a mean bugger. It hardly ever sleeps until it is absolutely sure you are sound asleep and cannot let the unconscious mind out to recharge and for you to see what your unconscious mind is doing - it is outside of your mind, recharging - and only then, will it sleep.

Your unconscious mind
Your unconscious mind has alot to do with who you are, and what you live by.
It determines your attitude, who you like, how you think, and other things like that.
It works with the conscious mind, making you a living person, who does all the life functions. The conscious mind is more so used than your conscious, and needs to recharge at night, in, yes, dreams.
The only thing is, when you OOBE you ARE your unconscious mind, and can do whatever you want in the time it is recharging.

The trick to an OOBE, is to get the conscious mind to sleep just before you actually fall asleep yourself, therefore enabling the unconscious mind out, and you being able to have an OOBE.

What your gonna see
This is the only bad thing about OOBEs - the beginning of it.
A brief explanation:
Your conscious mind is tired, and wants to sleep, but will not sleep until it is sure your body is fully shutdown.
But when you have gotten your conscious mind to sleep before you do, it shrinks a little (temporary) and lets the unconscious mind begin to come out.
But now, your conscious mind wakes up and has a tantrum and tries everything to stop the unconscious mind coming out.
This is when you feel it.
You will feel a slight electrical charge go through your spine, and whispering in your ears (best advice is to try and listen to it - it will go away if you do)
And you may hear someone calling out to you, from outside, or nearby.
Then, if you are unlucky, you may see people, animals, and other entities at your bedside (they look incredibly REAL, but you must remember, they AREN'T!)
And you may begin to feel like you're being crushed, etc.....
DO NOT PANIC OR GET EXCITED. It is the deadliest thing you can do in an OOBE - you will immediatley wake up.

This all happens in about 30 seconds. So you will barely remember it, but by god, will you notice it.

Now, if you do one of the excersises below, you will be in your Astral Body if you get this far.
You will probably want to look behind you, don't. You will see your body, sleeping. And it will scare the hell out of you and you will wake up.
You will most probably be in your house, NOTE: A few things might be different, eg. A cat or dog you don't own, a door that isn't supposed to be there, a mirror somewhere completely wrong, etc.
If you want something, or want to be somewhere, you have to have at least seen the interior of it - your brain is very smart and will improvise - once you think hard enough, you will be there.
And yes, you can FLY.
I find it quite hard to do, as if you fall, you will feel no pain, but it is still VERY scary, and you will taste blood etc, and wake up.

Excersises
These will give you more of a chance of being able to have an OOBE on demand:

The Glass Of Water
Absolutely drink nothing for a day.
I'm serious.
And eat anything that will make you thirsty.
Then, try to stay up to about.. 1AM.
Take a glass of iced water with you to your bedroom.
Put it to your lips (NOT touching the water)
Torment yourself about how nice it would taste, and how good it would be....
Then put it into another room.
Think about it for at least 30 minutes - keep yourself awake until then.
Keep thinking about it till you drift off to sleep.

The Elevator
Imagine you are in an elevator, going up, up, up.
FEEL your surroundings.
People getting on..
Chatter
Feel yourself rising
The elevator shaking
You reach the top floor
The door opens
You step out onto the roof
Step to the edge
See all the children looking at you from below
Imagine the height
Imagine the cars
Then jump.

Troubleshooting
If you have any problems, feel free to email me, and i will post them here with an answer.

Hope this guide has helped.
