How to make GTA 4 run smoothly

Hey..

just want to share something small.

I have this system:
Intel Core 2 Quad Q9650 @ 3 Ghz
2x 2Gb A-Data DDR2 1066Mhz
Asus ENGTX295 1,8GB GPU
Asus P5Q Pro motherboard

First, I couldn't run GTA smoothly/not.
It was stuttering all the time, even at the lowest settings.

But, last week, I bought the Acer TFT Monitor G245HQ - 23.6 Inch
and NOT for GTA IV. Just because I wanted something new.

I connected the monitor, everything was running smooth.
Then I thought.... let's try GTA IV just for one more time.

While it was installing, I checked the gta 4 patch page at Rockstar.com.
I saw, they released a new bundle.
TitleUpdate.zip, I downloaded it, installed it (without any other patch installations before, so I did a clean install of gta and then the bundle (patch 1060)).

I started GTA IV. My 3d Vision glasses light up, I clicked New Game, and man!
It was working!!! It was running about 30-40 fps . I couldn't believe it..
And I have the graphic drivers up-to-date..
not Nvidia Graphics Drivers for GTA IV PC from NZONE.
Oh yeah, first my gta 4 didnt open, I didnt installed Games for Windows LIVE :P

So don't forget it, else it wont run your game.


Also I recommend you Driver Genius to make sure you have all your drivers up-to-date!

So, what to do:
1. Install GTA 4 (I have a legit one)
2. Download the bundle from the link I gave.
3. When GTA 4 is done, open the setup.exe of the 1060 patch (so not 1101).
4. Install Games for Windows.
5. Play!

If you have a high-end pc, and it still not working, get a 120Mhz monitor. They are not so expensive!
