What this program is about
This is a video recording of a program Gil Boyne tought on self-hypnosis at a college. What I really like about this program is, unlike most of material out there on hypnosis that is for training hypnotherapists, this course is more practical and aimed at doing hypnosis on yourself. There is a large emphasis on how programming can happen naturally and how it shapes our behavior. He talks about rules for acceptance of ideas/beliefs in the subconscious, and how that can lead to creating habits or behavior that's non-productive. He gives an intro to hypnosis and some demonstrations, followed by some exercises and group hypnosis sessions. He wraps it up by teaching you how to structure suggestions, write your own programming, and how to combine it with trance to get a change you want. See below for more complete description.
If you are interested in studying hypnosis, I'd definitely recommend taking a look at this program. Also, if you don't have any background in hypnosis, I'd recommend you also look at Kein's basic-advanced course on hypnotherapy, it's really good.
Note: Some of the video material (about 1.5 hours) of this program is the same as on some other videos that were uploaded entitled "self-hypnosis for self-improvement." This is the complete seminar and it is in color (the other one is black and white).

DVD 2: Suggestibility Testing (XViD, 50 min)
Hypnosis and how it happens naturally. Inhibition to hypnosis and causes. Definition of hypnosis. Suggestion. Suggestibility. Gullibility. Suggestibility in athletes and creative people. Suggestibility testing exercise. Students? experiences. Arm levitation exercise. Difference between conscious and subconscious arm movement.
DVD 3: Demonstrations of Hypnotic Response (XViD, 52 min)
Power of mental expectancy. Negative and positive use of imagination and visualization. Demonstrations of hypnotic response. Trance behavior.
DVD 4: Readiness for Change (XViD, 52 min)
Resistance to change. How to reach readiness for change. Conditioned helplessness. Mental suffering. Group hypnosis session. Students? experiences.
DVD 5: Rules of the Mind (XViD, 59 min)
Rules of the mind. Effect of thoughts on the physical body. Law of mental expectancy. Creative use of imagination. Pickup example. Acceptance of ideas into the subconscious. Patterns of reaction. How emotional symptoms can produce organic change. Creating and undoing habits.
DVD 6: Rules for Effective Self-Programming (XViD, 84 min)
Conceptualization, visualization, emotionalization, and actualization. Rules for structuring suggestions. Selecting and prioritizing goals. Example of suggestions. Writing out your program. Symbolizing and personalizing your program. Where and when to hypnotize yourself. Preprogramming. How to hypnotize yourself. Termination of trance. How to address the subconscious. Self-hypnosis exercise. Students? experiences of program.
Book 1: How to Teach Self-Hypnosis (PDF, OCR, 191 pages)
Covers all the material shown in the videos and some minor stuff that was cut out of the videos. Check this out if you don?t have time to go through all the videos. Very good material in here.
Book 2: Marketing Self-Hypnosis and Other Group Programs (PDF, OCR, 102 pages)
Boyne reveals what a sneaky he is (in a good way). Talks about marketing and a few other things. Don?t know how useful this is but it came with the product so I scanned it anyway.
Track 1: Group Self-Hypnosis Session (128k VBR MP3, 20 min)
There was no self-hypnosis tape that came with the program, so I ripped this from the 4th DVD. It?s a very good track for self-hypnosis. Starts off with an induction, some relaxation and deepening. Also has 3 tests built into it that you can use to see if it is working: eye catalepsy, arm levitation, and arm grip tests. Boyne recommends you listen to this everyday for at least 30 days for conditioning of the trigger.
Track 2: Room of Nothingness (128k VBR MP3, 6 min)
A second self-hypnosis exercise, ripped from the 6th DVD. This one is meant to help you to quite down mental processes. If you have trouble to stop thinking and let go during self-hypnosis, try this track. Again, you have to listen to it a lot to have a permanent improvement (conditioning).
