Golf Lessons from Shawn Clement Segment 2


Shawn Clement is a teaching pro and Director of the Learning Center at the Richmond Hill Golf Club in Canada.

He played briefly on the Canadian Tour but decided that he was more comfortable as a teaching pro. He is 44 years old and can play well as either a right or left hander. In fact, he is a scratch golfer from both sides. In his teaching sequence, he will often switch sides to give you a different perspective on the individual movements.

He was medalist in the Canadian PGA qualifier in 1999 and in 2000 started appearing in Golf Tips Magazine as a ?Playing Editor? because they thought he could not only play but express his thoughts and teachings about the swing very well.

He was invited to the Golf Channel?s Academy Live and in July of 2001, appeared on Golf Academy Live with Jerry Foltz and Mike Ritz to talk about what made Moe Norman and Ben Hogan so special.


Shawn has many short golf training videos available. The ones included here cover several differrent aspects of the golf swing.

The first is his perpetual motion drill where he has you perform a swinging drill which puts rhythm into your swing.

In the second, he gives an exercise to help those who are having trouble with the hip turn in their backswing.

In the third he gives his take on swing planes and shows a drill which puts you into the proper plane for each club.

His fourth lesson uses a human skeleton to show how the body naturally turns when swinging a golf club. If you don't fight it, you can make your body work the proper way.

The final video in this post is his favorite. He shows how you swing in a tilted spiral motion and how it is properly used. There are three separate videos in this set which build upon each other to give you the overall view of his lesson.
